About the Producer

Supriyanto, also known as Iyan, cultivates Laurina and other exotic varietals on his farm located in the Ijen mountain range. Laurina, also known as Bourbon Pointu, has significantly less caffeine

(approximately 0.8%) compared to other Arabica coffees, which typically have a caffeine percentage of 1.8%. It is a rare varietal that requires special care due to its susceptibility to diseases and climate challenges.

Through dedication and innovative practices, Supriyanto has adapted Laurina to thrive in Indonesia’s unique conditions, making it a true pioneer varietal for the region. His meticulous attention to detail has resulted in exceptional coffees that showcase Indonesia’s potential for producing exotic and rare coffee profiles.

Processing

This Laurina coffee is processed in an anaerobic environment, sealed in plastic tanks for 120 hours, and naturally dried. Despite the fermentation, the coffee is remarkably clean, with a vibrant citric acidity and a well-balanced sweetness. The precise processing techniques highlight the Laurina’s unique flavour attributes, making it a rare and exciting cup.
